Move Away From The MYTH

"The time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from truth and turn to myth." -2 Tm 4:3-4

Paul was right…my goodness Paul was so right.

The MYTH is taking over worldwide. The MYTH is keeping the children of God silent while everything around us destroys itself without even realizing it. I’m not just talking about the world…I’m talking about the church.

We have hardened our hearts. We have closed our minds.

We have avoided the TRUTH of Scripture for so long that if confronted about it…we’d most likely not even be able to defend it.

The MYTH has bled onto us all, and the stain it’s left behind, has left Christians unwilling to stand up for TRUTH and wipe away corruption; even as it unfolds all around us.

We justify the MYTH. We manipulate Jesus’s Words to keep the MYTH alive and relevant. The MYTH gives us comfort and strokes our egos, as we “get along” with everyone, and make light of their (our) sin.

Do you know who didn’t make light of sin? Jesus.

Jesus took sin so seriously that He devised a way to beat it.

How many people in this world do you think even know what I’m talking about? How many people do you think go in and out of churches every week, and have no idea the fundamentals of the Christian faith or God’s Salvation?

Brothers and sisters, how much do you have to hate someone to not tell them the truth? How much more do you care about yourself and your own comfort, that you would let someone corrupt themselves and the people around them; without saying a word?

As Christians, it’s past time that we stand up for the TRUTH of Scripture and show TRUE LOVE to a world that desperately needs it right now. The TRUTH is not always convenient or easy to hear…but it is honest, edifying, unifying, eternal, and offers SALVATION.

I understand that it’s not always easy to speak to the TRUTH of Scripture…but look around you right now. You’re living in a world that’s being overwhelmed by the MYTH. This is what happens when you abandon TRUTH. The confusion and uncertainty you feel right now can be overcome by learning and speaking to the TRUTH of God’s Word.

In the bishop’s apology he said that the “views expressed (by the priest) do not represent the Christian position.”

I can say with the utmost confidence, as a Christian, that this bishop is wrong.

It’s time to move away from the MYTH.
