How many miracles have you seen in your life?
If you’re like me, not too many.
And why is that? Is it a lack of faith?
I think that’s part of it, yes. I also think I carry within me at times a lack of understanding and belief that causes me to doubt Gods intervention in my life and in the life of others. I mean, “God helps those who help themselves,” right?
But what if there’s nothing I can do? What if what needs to be done is impossible for me? What if what I need, or what someone else needs, is a miracle?
The truth is we all are going to face situations like this at some time in our lives. And even if miracles have been few in your life, it’s important that you never forget that God can do ANYTHING. Nothing is impossible for God.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” --Genesis 18:14 (ESV)
The answer is NO, nothing is too hard for the Lord. Scripture is clear that God can do the impossible, the wonderful, the miraculous things, we can’t even fathom. And if we’re being honest, how many miracles or seeming impossibilities have we not seen conquered in our lives, simply because we didn’t believe in God enough to ask for His intervention? It’s a scary thought.
It’s time that we shed our doubt and take back our faith in Him. Just because we live in a world of disbelief and pessimism, doesn’t mean we have to be a part of it. We can go against the grain…we can be a splinter that challenges human rationale for Gods eternal and omniscient ways. We just need to believe in Him, and even more, we need to expect the miraculous from Him.
No matter what happens, we’re not alone in this life. And if for some reason a miracle doesn’t happen in your situation; you’re still not alone. He’s always with you. He’s always with us…and that’s a miracle and blessing in and of itself.
Let’s not be limited by our own understanding. Let’s believe.
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.”
--Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)
